Default Warped glove box door

1. How do I remove the glove box door? Mine is warped and I hope to straighten it out a bit.

call 928 INTL and order a good used one.
to remove your glove box door,
get a short phillips screwdriver and remove the 3 screws that anchor the door on the bottom of the dash.
NOTE it might be easier to also remove the parcel tray first.
NOTE the doors come either in vinyl or leather covered determine that first,
as there are some subtle differences between the two versions

If you define 'good' as one that has less than 1-2 mm of variation in gap between it and the dash, 928Intl doesn't have any good used ones. A cracked dash can be recovered, a warped glovebox (AFAIK) cannot be repaired. It's my favorite tell-tale about how much indoor storage / sun exposure a car has had.

I bought the leather covered version and reshaped it using bondo or other filler to get it completely strait and then recovered it with the same material got with dash recover kit from classic nine.

OP post a picture of the warped door you might not have to remove it,
as it will be straighter then all the rest of the ones that are available

Since, as Rob says, exposure to heat was the reason it warped, logic seems to indicate that heat can change the shape. I've never had one that was warped, but I'd probably give it a try to reduce the warpage using some clamps, something rigid that would allow proper shape to be produced, then a heat gun (gradually increasing heat/clamping pressure to find the 'yield temperature and pressure' combination.

Might be a total failure, and I'd have to buy a replacement from Mark!!! Well, thinking about it, I'd probably buy a 'decent' one from Mark to experiment with.

I removed the door just as Mrmerlin described. Like many tasks, it was quite simple once I knew what I was doing!
I'm going to try the heat/clamp method described by Gary Knox. The procedure described by rcrone928 seems more suitable for high end restoration. I've set the bar a bit lower; I just want the car to run.

Regards,
John
