Default Solving Porsche 928 electrical problems

Every 928 owner has, or will eventually have an electrical problem that will require use of the wiring diagram for that model year (these should be in the last book of your official 928 Shop Manual - you DO have one, don't you?). That maze of lines and letters/numbers for whatever system you are investigating may be very confusing and/or intimidating. BUT, thankfully, there is a fabulous 'primer' on how to understand all that maze and numbers/letters. Every owner should have this manual in their saved file. It has been made available free of charge by Alan Moore, our friendly 'Electron Wrangler' in Arizona.

In case you don't already have it, here is a link to Alan's primer: http://www.moore-fun.net/928-Electri...%20primers.htm

I suggest you open this link, agree to Alan's terms, then click on the link to open the primer. Then, copy the primer, put it in your save file, print it, and read the hard copy several times. I say a big THANK YOU to Alan every time I open those last pages of my Workshop Manual. I want to say it publicly here to @Alan Thank You,

Gary
PS: If you are traveling in your 928, wouldn't it be nice to have both the primer and a copy of your car's wiring diagram with you - just in case??? OR, if you are having a mechanic solve the problem, that diagram (and maybe the primer if he/she is not a Porsche mechanic) could be helpful and reduce the time/cost for the repair.

Thanks! This looks like it may even be useful for other porsche models - say a 944!

Thank you so much Gary AND of course Alan for this! I use the diagrams frequently, often times alongside Alan’s tremendously helpful posts. I wish I knew about this guide sooner. I had to decipher some of this to locate my grounds and answer questions like what’s this module for and how to undo “modifications”.

I’ll be studying this primer (and likely the full scope) starting tonight! Thanks again!

I corrected the link to Alan's page. Hope it works now (seemed to for me). By the way, Alan has a lot of other interesting info and projects on his web site as well as this fabulous P-car wiring diagram primer.
