Default Workshop wheel/tyre option

Just a heads-up about a possible budget wheel/tyre option for when you don't want your nice mags and low profile tyres on your car.

Probably not an option in USA/Canada as I don't think LDV is available there but defnitely for NZ AUssie UK and maybe EU?

The LDV V80 van uses 16" alloy rims with the same stud pattern at the 928 but narrower at 6" wide.

I spotted this a while ago, but finally found a V80 van at a wrecker today. Got a full set of wheels and tyres off it for the same price that 2 new tyres would cost. In my case this is quite handy as I have an LDV EV80 electric truck. Turns out after I get them home I discover I'm a few days overdue of my CoF (safety inspection) so two of them got swapped over to the front of my truck straight away.

Then I whipped the 215/75-16C tyres off all 4 spares and replaced them with old worn Nissan Leaf 205/55/ 16's.

I now have them on my project LHD 85 S2 so I can get it up on my custom car ramps in order to try for an engine start (after the car has been sitting in a paddock for 15-odd years). The Simmonds rims with 265's on them were wayyyy too wide.

They could also be useful for putting on your track car before you load it onto the trailer - with higher profile tyres on to give you more ground clearance.

Pic attached (hopefully).
