Default Another seat parts question

I've got two seats. One's older, and not a memory seat. The other is an 89, and it's a memory seat. The older seat is perfect, and the newer seat is trashed. I want to end up with the older seat in the 89. But keep the memory in the 89.
The question is- can the seat be separated from the mechanicals in a clean and easy way? Basically what I'm asking is if the memory part of the seat can be separated from the leather part.

Argh! That sounds messy. Yeah, that sounds like a bit of a hassle. I can live with a torn bolster.
Thanks Jim.

Then just have a trim shop remove the back rest cover and sew in a new bolster panel it is not a big deal .........

Swap the mechanicals. I made a 12-way memory seat non-memory, I don't see why it can't be done in reverse. You'll run into trouble if the non memory seat doesn't have the housing for three seat adjust switches though if your memory seat does.

Aha! I'll pull em and just look.
I just needed a push in the right (wrong) direction.
