Default Do seats have memory?

I'm thinking of swapping out some seats. But my 89 has memory seats. And before I go to the effort of pulling them out, I thought I'd ask. I just realized that I can probably look at the connector, and get my answer. But offhand, does anyone know if the memory is in the seat mechanism, or what? My guess is that it must be. I'm guessing the motors have encoders in them, or something. Any ideas would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes, and I thought in the 89 the under seat module also controled the windows and sunroof ....

You can swap out the seats, but they will loose the memory function.

My driver seat has a memory...the PO sat off center...now Iam trying to re program it with my a$$ imprint! he also crushed the center cassette door
but you can't tell by looking at it.

electric seat memory would be ok but no one but me drives my car anyhow.

BTW 8 way seats allow to many chooses...Iam still fiddling with mine to find the right setting.

I have the 12 way seats and it took a long time to finally get a comfortable position. But, once I did, it's ohh so good. It's funny. It takes a few minutes to settle into the seats every time I drive the car but then it fits like a glove.

Hmm. Interesting how this post got HIJACKED by a few wiseasses. Now that you mention it, though, I have fond memories of the back seat of my Rambler. I guess that counts as seat memory.

I remember quite a few seats, but I've forgotten their names.
