At least on the '90 MY, average speed can be reset with the paddle.

Engine isn't fully warmed up yet. Between the two white lines is warmed up. Average speed is 12mph. Press the Zero button for two seconds to clear. Battery charge looks ok, oil pressure not to bad.

I just changed the oil in mine and it starts and stays up close to 5 bar until fully warmed up. I have 116,500 miles on my '94 GTS. Pressure when warmed up is 2.5 to 3.0 bar.

Should have a pre-purchase inspection, if possible. Get service records if available. 5-speed is nice. The options on my '94 were as follows, so some of the codes match. The radio in mine is the CR1 with a CD1 CD remote CD changer, both made by Alpine.

C02 CATALYTIC CONVERTER
XD4 PORSCHE CREST RIM CAPS
139 SEAT HEATING, LEFT SEAT
331 AM/FM CASSETTE W/ 2 DOOR SPEAKERS
340 SEAT HEATING, RIGHT SEAT
418 PROTECTIVE SIDE MOLDING
570 HIGH OUTPUT AIR CONDITIONING
650 SUNROOF
692 REMOTE CD CHANGER (6-DISC)

Hope this helps.

Default GTS Picture

When I looked at it, my first thought was that the oil pressure was too high for the RPMs. The temperature does indicate that the car is just warming up. The little "alien" eyes indicates average. The average speed can be reset by the paddles and is not tied to the first trip odometer (MI), which is reset seperately. So, nothing wrong with the picture.

Yup. Just dug out the owner's manual:

"Pull control lever for 3 seconds to reset"

applies to the average speed and fuel consumption.

what a bonehead I am. Shoulda remembered that.

There are probably some other gems in the leather pouch too...

Like the delivery inspection stamp: "Dr. Ing h.c.F Porsche"

and the stamp on the first page indicating Tourist Delivery.

In my opinion it has way too small numbers in speedo but have to admit odo figure would look good.

Erkka,

Can you toggle your digital readout to be Imperial units of measure vs Metric? I have a German car here in the US. I figured out how to reprogram the language from German to English, but I am still showing Metric. No problem since I am bilingual in units of measure, but I would like the ability to toggle back and forth like I could on my USA '90 S4.

Thanks,

Cameron

Haven't tried to change anything yet. It will have to wait until car is back together. I thought metric/imperial swap was same procedure for all years? Don't want to swap but it's nice to know.

Erkka

Two quick pulls on the computer stalk for the USA cars. Doesn't work on my German spec car. That sentence of my German owner's manual is omitted compared to the USA owners manual.

oops. I hijacked. Sorry folks. Send me a PM if anyone knows the solution to this mystery.
