Default PNW 928 Tech Session Day This Summer

I talked this over with Louie a couple of years ago and again
recently. I'd like to hear thoughts from Pacific NW 928 owners. I'd like us to
put together a tech session day as follows (all are welcome, bearing in mind this is likely to be a local event based on simple distance):

Louie talks about developments on the 928 engine;
Don talks about racing the 928;
Dennis and DavidV and others talk about their experiences in building
a stroker;
Curt leads an autoX theory session;
Chris and I and others can talk about interior work, as both have
done complete interior replacements;
Someone can talk about PCA rules and such;
Someone can talk about bodywork on the 928;
Rob and Thursty can lead a session on 928 Stereo work and electronics
work;
Pat can tell us about understeer ;-)
Tom talks about lugnuts and torque specs;
Someone can expound on a Supercharger Setup.
Etc Etc ....
We BBQ something big and red;
We convene several Porsche 928's.

I would like to offer my place up as a location, and I'm asking for
input from you all. I'm thinking this needs to happen in the
August/September timeframe. Thoughts?

Would need more parking than what your place would allow, and would want something a little bit more south of Seattle so the Portland area PacNWers could attend without driving quite so far. Say Olympia or Centralia?

Maybe I'll volunteer Tom's place .. however, remember PNW includes BC also .... I think my place can take about thirty cars, and the communal beach can take another 40 or so. Shane, your place would work

Thanks for remembering your northern cousins. This would be the kind of event that could really get me up for a little "southern excursion". I'm sure a few others here would make the pilgrimage as well. I like September.

My next vacation isn't till the 14th or 15th of Aug and will extend to sometime after the next TA. The Aug 20-22 I'll be attending another FAS course, and won't be available. Anytime after that and I'll be free to attend or host.

I'd definitely be interested as well, no matter when the timeframe. I'm assuming a weekend event?

Andrew, yes definitely weekend, looks like mid-September. I can't commit others, so I don't know who would be speaking but I figure we can ask, and there are so many knowledgeable people in the 928 world locally, we should have a great time.

I'd like to offer the opportunity to anyone locally (or anyone who will be in Seattle around the last weekend of September or the first weekend in October) to let me know offlist if you'd like to present something techie about the 928.

We already have an ignition greybeard; a stereo/electrics guru and a few others who have indicated interest. THis will be an informal day with hopefully several knowledgeable 928 enthusiasts sharing their experiences in a particular field. I'm going to try to get the largest 928 memorabilia collector in the PNW out here also ..... So as it stands, looks like the Park Place Party is evening of the 25th September, and we could schedule this event for the 2nd of October or earlier in the day on the 25th. However, the 2nd looks like a better option. Please contact me if you'd like to share something about the car. Lizard, hopefully you can be here Brother and hopefully in a nice new 928. Glenn, Andrew, Shane, Mac ... I hope to see you guys too

The date is set for this event, for October 2nd, 2004, in Seattle at my place. I've got commitments from some very knowledgeable 928 locals, and this is looking like it will be a great day of 928 tech talk. I am hosting the day, all who would like to attend be sure to mail me offline, space is limited.
