Thanks, everyone, for making the 2024 gathering a success! I have to thank Nancy the most for her huge efforts at various things, seen and unseen. But she seems to enjoy it, too. We've resumed our lives of quiet desperation.
Thanks, Dave, for fixing my car, contributing one of the three relays required to straighten it out (so far, that is). It was not clear from the symptoms that it was such a simple matter, but of course I will forever advise fellow sufferers to replace them now. I've spent recent winters on other projects, but it's time to devote one to my favorite car.
Special thanks to George, who came early and stayed late to help out. He even installed the drive unit on the e-Type Jaguar while I engaged in other foolishness.
Charlie was again the hero grill master, and breaker of fuel tank cover plates — both involving highly flammable substances. All other 928's performed without trouble. Wait - I found some significant oil trails in the driveway today. Somebody has a semi-serious leak, someone who parked on the grass on the south side of the driveway, towards the road.
Kids go to camps to learn stuff. What did you learn?

This year was a great year at Camp 928! The rain only showed its face during the wee hours of the morning and the nights were a pleasant temperature (For us campers). The hosts were as gracious and accommodating as ever (Maybe even more so this year). I had a great time seeing the gang and a few more. Missed seeing the few that could not make it. The Saturday night fire was just the right temperature for S’mores (Thanks to Peter Nichols). As always, I learned a few more things from Dave about the 928 anatomy. I also learned a few things about rubbing paint with the authorities. But the one most important thing that I learned, is that I don’t ever want to miss a year at Camp 928! Thank you Curt and Nancy for another great year.
Rest stop when on the fun run.
Went to the car show.

Hi Curt and fellow campers. I look forward to Camp 928 all year, and it has never disappointed. Curt and Nancy, many many thanks! You guys are fantastic. Dave, big thanks for arranging lodging and for your ongoing consultations. That was truly a great time even with the now-annual fuel sender breakage, which had the decent silver lining of some fun seat time in the first gen Mister 2.
What I learned: A couple of new and (embarrassingly) old attendee names. Devcon plastic epoxy "sort of" sticks to fuel sender caps. MR2s won't start unless the clutch is fully out. Waze is the best turn by turn app. 53 relays cause all 928 problems.
After leaving a little late, I got home Sunday at 3:30, did laundry, packed, and flew out on a delayed 8 PM flight -- arrived at the hotel with only 8 hours until my 8 AM Monday meeting. Sigh. Back to work.

Thank you Curt and Nancy for another great weekend in the Adirondacks. It’s always fun to see what is new at the compound and catch up with you and other enthusiasts. I too learned something. The negative pressure outside a 928 at relatively low speeds is sufficient to suck a camp chair cover in the cargo bay out an open window. Who knew. I’m already looking forward to next year.
