Just noticed this somewhat old thread. I went through this multiple times over the last decade or so and here's what I found
From left - two connectors from Bel Metric, an original off my 1983 car, Eagleday, Rhode Island Wiring.

The BelMetric female spade is only OK. I like that it's brass, but the material was thicker than the original and somewhat difficult to crimp properly. Eagleday was overall best, but they're out of business. Rhode Island Wiring was very acceptable, and by the way, they also stock a huge variety of properly colored wire appropriate for our cars including many varieties of the rare striped wires too with the proper European colors -- albeit in American gauges.

By the way, the SKUs at BelMetric are E302 (female) and E308BRS(male). They also have the commonly used 6mm ring brass connector, not shown, stock E868BRSCHAIN.
If I were to order from BelMetric again, I think I'd try the female spade for smaller wire to see if it would be a better crimp, SKU E922TABBRS.
