Interior lights and rear hatch
I didn’t see any reference to this Uber this title in the forum so started a new one. Sorry if in the wrong section. However, I Went to change the bulb in the center interior map reading light and now none of the interior lights work nor does the rear hatch release. All fuses ok and checked for continuity and other interior items seem to be working as usual. Any tips or suggestions appreciated

disconnect the battery
then remove the center lamp and put heat shrink on all 3 of the wire connectors
NOTE if the lamp is melted then you should upgrade to the Jetta lamps Roger sells them make sure to get the pig tale with the lamps
you need to get two of them the lamp position at the edge of the hatch will not fit the Jetta lamp .
Replace the interior light fuse then connect the battery,
verify that all the lamps are properly wired,
make sure the brown and white stripe wire is not on the lamp housing ground plug.
test the lights then disconnect the battery and put them all back into place

Interior Lights
ThanksM. I will give it a try. Is the middle map light the ring leader for interior light problems?. It seems like if I just look at it wrong something doesn’t work
