3D Printed Wiper Arm Spacer
#47
I have a bunch of v2? (no need for razor blade version) and v4? (two halves). I found that the v2 works the best to keep the two metal bits from clacking each other when closing. Both versions only fit on the thinner lower wiper arm. But I don't have a problem of the metal hitting the window. Thanks so much for designing these!

Amazing lack of response. My presumption is that this thread was merely a flash in the pan that simply did not pan out. It appears to me that there was a real interest in having some or several of these items. I am inclined to work up a couple of molds and simply mode some of them in a two part hard rubber. I think I can make some molds that will allow me to cast about 100 hundred or more of them in about the time it takes to 3D print one. I have worked the design up a little bit based on the first pictures of them in this thread. I don't see any basis for the complexity later developed into these items. I have the tooling, and I can obtain the material to machine the molds, and I have started on that. I plan to make these available gratis, if it works out at all, something like with my door hinge shims. I might have to charge a little bit to ship them overseas or out of the country since they will not ship like my Shims in a letter envelope.

Jerry,
I think it would be a great idea if Roger or Mark can sponsor / stock a run of these pieces. I would be interested in a rubber variant that it similar to the original if they were available. I have 3 cars for them… Maybe reach out to the suppliers and see if they would be interested in a batch?

Hi Jerry,
You mentioned you had the toolings and plan to build a run of 100 or so and make them available gratis. In my humble opinion, our time and effort -not to mention the cost of material and managing the inventory- could be best served through a central ordering system and ERP/CRM/Payment and shipping gateway. In the end you know whats best for your effort.
Have a good night.

I did my part, I designed three versions, shared the files, and gave permission to use my designs.
Besides that, between holding down a full time job, making coffee, tea, juice & soup, I quite honestly don't have time to make these for distribution. But have at it if you feel the need.
Peace,
DPM

Jerry I never got any of these .
I would be quite happy to compensate you for whatever your shipping and handling and packaging costs might be,
I live on the East Coast now.
I would like to get enough for 20 cars,
I have 2 in my driveway that need them.
Every car that comes in needs them as well.
So I could also act as a dispersion point.
Thanks for your time ,
Stan
