Default 91 GT Rear Wheel Well Liners

Hi all,

My rear wheel well liners have been in bad shape for quite a long time, but are now reaching a state where I have to do something about them - the right one is falling apart, and the left isn't much better.

Parts numbers should be 928 504 303 03 & 928 504 304 03 left & right respectively, but I'm informed they're no longer available. The ones for the GTS; 928 504 303 04 & 928 504 304 04 however, are available, for a fairly reasonable price even (given it's Porsche).

With the wider arches of the GTS, these probably won't fit a GT, but does anyone if they can be adapted for it (fairly easily) ?
Info about possible sources for the correct ones is of course most welcome too - thanks in advance!

Regards,
Erling

I used the LHS GTS one for my MY91 S4 and it just needed trimming to fit. The liner was in worse condition than the foam — foam was holding cracked plastic together in. places.

It wasn't a great fit but you can read my thread about it:

About a year ago, I bought a pair of OE rear wheel well liners for my GTS from Roger Tyson (928sRus.com). He only had about 3 pair in stock at that time. May have refilled his stock if they are still available. Check with him (shipping is a problem, but being a Brit native, maybe he knows some tricks!!). At one time, Jerry Feather produced some aftermarket liners as well. Don't know the status of his product any more either.

Hope you can find a set.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Seems like I will have to take a chance with the GTS/universal? liners.

I believe I can source them locally - Porsche Center gave me a quote, and a Swedish Porsche parts supplier I've used before also appears able to deliver them. Shipping from the US would probably be quite prohibitive, given the size of the packages.

Porsche superseded all liners to whatever is only available now, which has improved material characteristics. I believe Roger was in touch with them at one point about the sizing and fit a few years ago before the new runs were made due to discrepancies he noticed.

Hi all,

Just a quick follow-up. I ordered the available liners from Porsche and my regular workshop fitted them. According to them, one of the liners required slight modification, with new holes for the bolts. Guess this lends credence to the theory that Porsche kept two moulds, one for the GTS liners, and (accidently) one for the S4/GT.

Thanks again all for the help; it's nice not to have to worry about the crumbling liners anymore.

Regards,
Erling

What PN did you receive for the "one for the S4/GT" liner?

I only see a
92850430304/404 for the GTS.

Yes, those are the ones I got - the originals for the S4/GT (same numbers, only ending with 3 instead of 4) are no longer available. But someone had the theory that when Porsche - maybe - got rid of the S4/GT moulds, they accidently tossed out one of the GTS moulds instead, thus ending up with having one GTS mould & one S4/GT, but still using the GTS numbers for both.

Thats...weird. There is _no_ way a GT one will fit a GTS, its at least 2" too narrow...and a GTS liner has so much overhang out of an S4 fender...I dont see how Porsche could have made that mistake, or supercession.

Man, I have a set here in PA. Bought them new from Porsche for my 91GT. Never installed them. I’m here in PA (US), so I think they would be too costly to ship. The trimming local bought GTS inserts might be your best play.
