Interior lighting… a couple of issues no lights, buzzing reminder always on
Hey folks, new owner here. Picked up an ‘84 S a couple of usual issues, and a couple that have developed in the few days of ownership.
The second issue is my largest issue atm effecting my drive.
1. I do not have any interior lights when doors/trunk open.
2. Not sure what I did… I have developed a buzzing sound, like a reminder that a door is ajar that does not go away. It stays on while driving. I did try to pop the trunk with the internal buttons, which did not work. I wonder if I somehow tripped a sensor.
As a rookie, I’m looking for some advice where to start. Did some searching here, but didn’t find anything. Appreciate your help in advance.

do a CE panel refresh buy a can of deoxit 100 spray,
The lights being not working could be a fuse or the pin switch in each door janb
I suggest you unplug the hatch latch ground so you dont activate the light circuit then you can leave the hatch open without a battery drain
The pull switches are probably pin switches or fuses ,
clean the pin switches first
the latch will only work if the door is open

The lights might be something as simple as being turned off. They have 3 positions. Try working them and see what happens. The buzzing could be from the seat belts - could be something going on there. Were you buckled up? Try unbuckling and rebuckliing the next time it happens.

Do any of the interior lights work in manual mode (via the switch on each light) ?
If not check the fuse, looks like #23, 8 Amp
.
Note: do not use higher amp rated fuses, never!

No lights in manual mode. I was thinking fuse as well. Haven’t had a chance to look, but will next week.
The buzzing started after I tried the rear hatch switch, which didn’t work… had the doors and hatch open to clean the glass. I thought maybe the hatch wasn’t closed. Pulled over and checked it, it was closed. It doesn’t like to catch when it is shut, takes a couple tries, some muscle to close. Noticed the latch itself it cracked. So maybe it’s loose? Where is the latch switch? Is it in the latch assembly?

In the end, it was all related! (or not, I may find out later...) Replaced fuse #23 with a new 8A bullet fuse. Interior lights back on, and the buzzing is gone.
I did learn (thank you to everyone) that my clock is on this fuse as well. I should have known when it went out. I will now know for future.
