Default Check it out - Full Vacuum Hose Diagram - Questions.

I'm working on a full vacuum hose diagram for MY 80.

With the debate a week or two ago about vacuum hoses and the need to replace mine, I did the following; Mostly cut from PET. What have I learned.

Part 999 239 010 40 Hose for Fuel Pressure Damper (FPD) and Regulators (FPR) is 4mm. Nicols site, shows 5mm. This makes sense, because I borrowed a micrometer from my local bike shop and the openings for the FPR, FDRs and throttle body local are 5 mm. It will make for a tighter fit using the 4 mm hose.

Can anyone confirm the vacuum hose size for the advance/retard? Nicols site shows 3.2 mm, but I see in the PET Illustration 108-05 shows 2,6. 999 239 012 80. I measure 4.07 mm on the vacuum advance/retard openings on the distributor and the throttle body. 2.6mm seems a little small, but it seems 3.2mm will work fine for a tight fit.

The fitting around the vacuum valve seem to be the hardest to match. The small opening for the vacuum valve was 4.8mm, and the other sides were 12.25 for the shaft 13.25 for the lips. PET shows 13mm hose from the vacuum valve to the Y piece. I couldn't find the size and part # on PET for the hose that goes from the vacuum valve to the Charcole Cannister, but 13mm has got to be it.

Y fitting: Couldn't find the size of the bottom of the Y that goes in front of the throttle body but it's gotta be 13mm.

Auxillary air valve: openings are 10mm, so 9mm from the Y piece to the air valve and 9mm from the air valve to the air distributor work.

Air Box opening measured 13mm, so the 12mm hose shown on PET will work for a tight fit. Again, I think Nicols showed 13mm.

I almost had a heart attack looking a the price for some parts:
Aux air to air distributor N 020 359 $32.00
13mm hose from Y piece to front of throttle body 999 239 011 40 $59.00
13mm hose from Y piece to vacuum valve 999 239 016 40 $22.98

ouch.

Before anyone says standard. I couldn't fit 1/2" (12.7mm) on vacuum valves 13mm opening.

This is my research as of current. Any help/suggestions is appreciated.

I don't know if it's right, but it's very impressive!

Rez,

I think you're missing the other 'Y' connector in the fender:

Of course, this version is much cheaper:

Ken,

You bring a point of confusion on my part. The PET illustration 201-10 seems to show 2 options. One with the Y connector in the fendor and one without, which has one line going straight to the Vacuum Limiter, which I thought was the case in MY 80. If not, why the 2 diagrams. I'll take a peak in the fender tonight. If you notice that same illustration, PET shows the hose from the cannister to vacuum limiter as a lockring. Do you have the correct part # for this?
