Default Fuel injector size and P/N for Euro S2

I'm having trouble searching the archives right now.

Does any one know what size the injectors are for an Euro S2? Bosch P/N?

I'm having my injectors rebuilt, flowed, balanced. Found a good local source to have this done, and he mentioned he could exchange for a larger pound injector. Would this be a good time to do this, or is it completely unessecary?

Note, I'm in the process of installing an AFPR. Have MSDS header and free-flow catless exhaust. My car is running lean right now, and I am working to solve this.

Thanks everyone!

Think I may have found it... does this read correcly?

Bosch 0280150991-24lb* They read for 85-86 LH-jet applications. My best guess it they were used on the Euros from 84-86. They are white, as are mine.

928 injectors

Thanks for the link, Garth. ...archive is working now, just really slow.

Hi Jim

The Porsche part # for the Euro S injectors is 928.606.119.00 , don't have the B# handy.

I recommend sticking with the stock size injector. We both have the same setup (MDSD headers 3.5" cat back, no cats) and using the adjustable regular I was able to easily get proper A/F ratios during testing on a dyno with a professional A/F sniffer. All this solved my lean condition and I picked up 35hp with this setup :-).

Doesn't the 16V Euro S have the same style injectors as the L-Jet cars?

Yes, same style, different flow rate. You can use all the same bushings and hose kits as L-Jet.

A little obscure, but do you know what is their flowrate? ...How about Ohm spec?

Okay, well I figured I would post the flow test from my injectors. These are the Bosch 0 280 150 252 injectors as spec'd by Mark A.
They all flowed 69-70Ml @ 44psi (3 Bar), for 30 seconds. Spray pattern was good. Not bad for 20 year old injectors. Well, one of them is much newer and flowed 70ml as well.
Howard did a very nice job w/everthing. Including new orings, rubber seats, and filters. $60
During the injector install, I noticed one of the the filters was missing. I called Howard, and he drove to my garage (@ 9pm this eve!) to install said filter. Talk about service! So here I am giving him a plug...
Injectors4U.com

As a sidenote, I was disturbed about the price of the Hose/Clamp/Sleeve assy (btw the rail and injectors for 16V). $15 per 2 ($60) Ouch! I found a very reasonable alternative for $8-11. If anyone is interested, I will post pics.

Jim;
I'd be interested in your alternative hose/clamp/sleeve assy. I have a spare set of injectors & fuel rails and plan on rebuilding them for a swap to my car( just to be ready for when the time comes).

Can you tell me what the alternative is? and that picture would be great as well.

SteveCo,
I used Goodyear 8mm hose, rated 300psi. On the injector end I used zinc plated sleeve that fits very snug around the hose (fitting w/help of pet. jelly). The reason for the sleeve in lieu of the clamp is because that is what Porsche uses. Note the Porsche sleeve is different but I believe they serve the same ourpose. The fit is VERY tight. On the rail end I use a SS clamp.
Pretty simple and cost effective. Put everything together and I'm holding excellent pressure w/no leakdown. The hose needs to be cut to 1 7/8".

There is a Porsche repair kit with these short hoses, it's very expensive, and I found that the hoses were actually too short.

Although I queried it back to the factory, they still insisted the length was correct. I have checked on other Euro S2s and they are the same as mine.

So Jim's solution is much better..............

Jim, are you saying that the sleeve is how the hoses were secured to the injector at the factory? I had my injectors rebuilt last year, and when I got them back, they came with clamps similar to what I sent.

What sort of hose was that, and where did you get it?

N!

Jim;
Great pictures and a very nice solution. I have a couple of questions, though:

1. Do you crimp the zinc sleeve or is it just a very tight insertation fit that holds them in place?
2. Any reason you did not use the sleeves for the fuel rail connection as well? Obviously the sleeve(s) would need to be shorter to make this work...just wondering if they are available in shorter lengths or maybe in stainless to allow then to be cut off a bit.
3. Are the sleeves easy to purchase? Where did you get them (ie: same place as you got the hose)? I'm assuming their standard pressure hose fittings (like the ones on A/C of power steering hoses) and available at hi-pressure hose shops.

I like the solution, but would feel a little better if the sleeves were crimped. Good info on the hose length and type, all the same. Time for me to dig out my spare injectors/fuel rails and start rebuilding!

John;
You are correct, the factory rebuild kits are a bit pricey (especially when you factor in the Cdn currency exchange) and I agree the hose length is shorter than it should be. Not sure what's up there.
