Antigravity battery...winner.

This math is confusing me; and I think it’s because we don’t have a stated denominator. What is y?
LA Battery: $200 ÷ y = $ annual cost
Lithium Battery: $900 ÷ y = $ annual cost
The Antigravity page has 5 year car warranty, so I assume y = 5(?) In that case, LA = $40 and Lithium = $180. Before someone says a LA battery won’t last 5 years, I can only say I’ve never had a battery in any vehicle (to include lawnmower) last <5 years. And I don’t do anything special – no battery tender, etc. Harshest of German winters and central Texas heat – last 928 battery was 9 years. But maybe I’m an outlier.

I think you might be, but a DD, maintained 928 is...an outlier as well.
Warranties are not generally the length of service..

This is a really cool battery that has little to no practical value. If my battery is going dead and I need a $900 jumpstart on a regular basis there are bigger problems. Very cool. If I’m stuck somewhere and my Clore booster box fails me then I would probably be glad I had a $900 battery in reserve. If you are that worried about your car starting you need to get in the garage and spend some time with your car. 928, 512, 914, 328…. Doesn’t matter. Your car should start without a $900 battery if you have taken care of it.

..still not what the post was about.
But what I learned here is that thoughts and prayers will keep a battery in great condition, forever.

What was this post about? My take was, if I kill my battery I have a built In booster box. Very cool stuff. I have a LiFePO battery bank powering part of my home. It’s great when the power goes out but it’s just just telling me there is a problem with my local power grid.

I am taking a serious look at these for my miata....yes it also doesn't need weight reduction in the rear and is parked for extended periods of time.....but the slightly heavier "Braille" thats in it now is quite weak......it might start after a weak sitting.... I remember putting a Braille in my first race 928...sucked in that one too....ended up with stock miata batteries at about 20lbs.....those actually worked pretty good for cheap price

As an FYI, on Monday I bought a DieHard 730 CCA, from Advance Auto for $225.
When you buy a battery, and especially one like SpeedToys, make sure it has the hold-downs in the proper location so that it can be secured in the battery box. My prior one I bought at Batteries Plus, and here's their 928 S4 battery:
https://www.batteriesplus.com/batter...s4/v8-5.0l-gas
Note the hold-downs are missing on the ends, and at the time I overlooked/missed it in my haste. The end-result was trying to diagnose a thumping noise over big bumps from the rear which turned-out to be the battery - that took me a while to finally track it down!
New batter installed, no more thumps!
