Arizona Drive-Memorial Day Weekend
I'm looking for some advice on a good drive (less than 500 miles) in the great state of Arizona. Destinations I have in mind: Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon (South Rim), Flagstaff, Havasu. Any other ideas? What roads are the most scenic and Shark friendly?

Tim,
Check out this post for some ideas "Alright Phoenix Drivers"
Hope you got that AC working again !
Agree the rim is a 2 day trip to get the most from it, Even petrified forest... PS don't JUST go to the petrifiied forest -= not enough to do for that length of drive: add some other places: Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater Volcano, Walnut Canyon, Snowbowl, Wupatki, Lowell Observatory, Flagstaff, Painted Desert
.... lots to do
Alan

Don't overlook south eastern AZ, a much better run from the Tucson area. Take I10 east and then route 186 to the Chiricahua National Monument. The sights are fantastic. Then go down to Bisbee, a very "arts and crafty" old mining town .... it is a great place to spend the night is the Copper Queen hotel. Then go north to Tombstone if you like a taste of the old west (and tourists) ... and/or head across 82 to Sonoita. This is a great place to grab lunch or dinner. There are vinyards and wine tasting in Elgin, not too far from Sonoita. Then continue down to Patagonia all the way down to Nogales. I'm not big on the town of Nogales itself, but if you haven't seen a boarder town it might be interesting. It is a quick shot up I19 back to Tucson. Stop at the Tubac presidio and around that area as well as the San Xavier del Bac mission. Other than the interstate hwys, the roads are off the main path and are very nice in a 928.
I'd stay away from the I17 corridor and Sedona/Flagstaff, the traffic and crowds are terrible on long holiday weekends.

Thanks everyone, I'll look into all of those suggestions later today.
Thankfully, the AC is online again. My pressure switch was leaking out of the terminals of all places, luckily I had a replacement. A full R-12 recharge, a reciever/direr, and a few hours later and I have AC once again. Yeah!
