89 928S4 Interior Electrical
While replacing the after-market stereo with a modern Blaupunkt Bremen, I lost all interior lighting, dash LED, cigarette lighter, and electronic trunk latch. All associated internal fuses seem to be in good order. I am not an electrical engineer but am looking for some advice on the next troubleshooting steps. Could it be the 'Interior Relay' (XXI), or is there some other fuse(s) I should be looking at? Thanks

You’ve probably blown Fuse 24. Replace with 7.5A but check you haven’t damaged any wiring in centre console and created risk of short. When you say fuses “in good order” is that just visual? Check with multimeter. The cigar lighter is on separate fuse so I’m puzzled. When doing any electrical work or moving wiring it’s recommended to disconnect battery at ground strap to avoid accidental shorts.

Thank you for your assistance. FUSE 24 was the first fuse I checked and in fact, was the issue. The fuse did not visually look to be blown, but after replacing it corrected the issue. Agree that you should always disconnect the battery source, but was a bit too excited to get started. Oddly after contacting the previous owner, he installed a quick disconnect behind the tool kit.
