Trying to get this 1978 928 back up and running. It's running ok but misfires some. All the gages are working except for the tach. Can anybody give me a starting point on tracking it down the culprit? Thanks for any help.

On the flexible foil there are a set of pins that go into the back of the tach from a hard PCB.
The PCB and foil are connected using some kind of rivet and over time the connection degrades.
You can lightly solder them together as many have over the years or buy the new hard PCBs designed to replace the original flexible circuit board. https://www.lutzauto.com/product-page/LTZ-92864192300
Roger also sells it if you would rather buy it from him as part of a larger order.
I personally would try to fix the original part and then buy the hard PCB replacement if it doesn't get it working again.
