Hi
after dismantling (oncamera) the fuel and air components, the replacements, cleaning, maintenance, I screwed up the videos and thereefore lost my plan to reassemble all of the hoses to their exact location. Took the risk of reassembly and the motor cranked and starts faster than ever before. However something is not connected properly since It spits oily fumes and quickly dies. There seems to be no guide in the repair shop manuals nor overall pictures or drawings. the various rubber hoses connected to the pollution control component.
I am assuming that the oil fumes or vents parts are connected incorrectly, or that i connected oil to the air intake. In any event, worst case is that I have to dissassemble again and reconnect.
like the Apollo 13 crew, I need a procedure for reentry! Can anyone help?
Pictures of the routing that you have now would be helpful. Also the location of where it "spits oily fumes". I am sure that there is a post somewhere on the forum with those routing pictures, just dont know where without searching.
There should also be a diagram on the bottom of the hood that shows the vacuum hose routing.
And to echo the above, we will need to know what year your car is to give any direct assistance.
Good day!
1985
thanks for sharing ideas.
i indeed followed the advice and took pictures, but with poor results. Many of the hoses routing go below the air intakes anyway. My next step is to find a 1985 ish in the Gatineau Ottawa area up here in the North, and make a friend! Unless i do get a drawing.
