I'm trying to put my engine fan assembly back together and I wanted to see if there are any tricks to putting in the woodruff key on the '79. I've never installed one before and before I mess something up, I thought I'd ask the experts.
Finally got it. I did have one other question. While working on the AC I installed a new thermo switch for the electric fan, a lower Celsius than the original. It kicked on while idling for awhile but when I switched the car off the first time it continued to run for a short period. However, the next time the electric fan turned off immediately. I figured it should have continued to run?? Any thoughts on this?
for those reading at home, a small ball peen hammer and gently taps will get the woodruff key seated. Make sure that the key is smooth with no burrs (especially if reusing one -pulling them out can sometimes deform them)
