Default 1986 Euro window issue

After putting in a new odometer gear and putting o-rings and gaskets in my water bridge housing, my passenger window rolled down, then would not roll back up. I checked my driver's side, and it stopped working also. The motors work fine when adding 12v power. I have continuity through the wires. I tried another relay that I think should be good, (not sure) and hoped was a good relay, but nothing. I jumped the relay slot from 30-87 and still nothing. It seems no power is getting to the windows. I am thinking something happened around the ignition switch. How/what should I test or check? I always do everything I can think of before feeling the need to post for help. Thank you for any ideas and help.

Thank you for responding. I switched out relay IV with a known good one like you said. Still doesn't work.

Ahh. Got it. What had happened was...my passenger went down, but not up. The wire on the switch was broken, but in the process of trying to figure it out, I went straight to the fuses. I pulled 3 blown fuses, but none were to the windows. However, one was a 30 amp fuse in slot #3. Since the wiring scheme shows nothing in slot 3, I just left it out. After pulling the CE panel, I realized a PO had rewired the windows to go through slot 3. After replacing the fuse, windows work. Hmm.

And… that is why messing with the wiring harnesses and CE system is a bad idea… specially for a car as it changes hands…. Glad you figured it out.

make a note of this circuit change for you or the next owner,
put it in the owners manual.
