So this code is behind the ashtray in my car. Does this look like it could be the original radio code to my original CR-1 Radio Cassette. Yes, I know it reads "Radio" but is this the original code or probably something newer.
I still have the original unit (out of the car) but can't find the code anywhere else in my paperwork owner's manual. Once upon a time I had it but seem to remember it being a shorter simpler numerical code. By the way- have you noticed how much people want for these older units??
Anyway, the CR-1 is NOT one of the units that anyone has a code for anymore and they have to be sent off to get them so I'd love to know if this is likely it.
That's the serial number of the head unit but not the code. The dealer or PCNA was likely able to get the code based on that serial number back in the day, but not now. Easiest thing is to send the head unit to Creative Car Audio and have them decode it.
If this is in reference to your 1991, then the CR-1 can’t be the original radio since the CR-1 was introduced for the MY 1992 cars. If that is the original decal behind the ashtray, then the original radio for your 1991 was a CD-2 player. CD-2’s had 5 digit codes.
