Default Where'd my R rear side lamp wiring go?

Or where does it go??

I don't have power to my R rear side lamp (tail is fine) and am looking for a junction that according to some other threads should be near the bottom/rear of the R 1/4 interior trim panel. I found the white junction easily on the driver's side but don't see it on the passenger side. Pulled the interior trim away--a little-- at the rear, and see some wires there but no white junctions. And none of them move when I push/pull the lamp wiring from the fender well side.

Do I need to do more removal of the trim panel (how?), or look elsewhere?

Thanks.

The connection is underneath the tool tray.
If I remember well, it's a brownish square connector...

If you can see the rear ground then you will see the side marker plug it is part of the loom that is grounded at the rear. You can reach in and pull it out. To get to it, you need to "be a man" and teach that rear quarter trim who is the Boss...or disassemble it in a more civilized manner. Your call. As you can see in the image I broke the backing board and cut out some of the shaped foam to make the ground more accessible. It looks perfectly normal once folder back into place. There is a screw in the upper arch which needs to be removed if you are going to use brute force like a gorilla.

I depinned my connector and cleaned out all the green corrosion (bottom pic w/ depinning tool inserted). The lamp works again. That rear ground had 40 years of corrosion on it; nobody had ever cleaned it.

Hmmmmm....That's right where I've been looking. And I've had the trim pulled away pretty close to what you have. Can see bundles of wire back there but no connectors. Haven't found the ground point yet either! Is it on a vertical or horizontal surface?

Think I'll take the endoscope out there tomorrow and get more light and better look at what's back there.

Thanks.

Mine was laying against the floor of the car. It plugs into the main loom so if you run your hand along the loom you will feel where it branches off near the barrel connector. Give it a light tug and it should pull out enough to inspect the plastic plug as depicted.

My rear side marker had two faults: (1) the plug was badly corroded; and (2) the bulb checker was intermittently delivering only 6vdc. All power to that bulb passes through the check module which can fail. I made a jumper to remove the bulb check module and it finally behaves as expected.

Took off the interior quarter panel and found it--glued up behind the foam attached to the wheel well. Have power to the connector but not out of the connector so will replace the (IMO) stupid Porsche connector which is needlessly hard to get apart, with something more user friendly.

And as long as I'm here will remove all the foam and add some sound deadening to try to quiet down the cabin a bit.
Thanks.
