Default Windshield replacement.

Over the years my windshield had taken a beating and after last years trip to PA and back it's even worse.
How important is it to replace it with an OEM for about $2k vs a Chinese for about $400?
Most likely I will never sell the car so I'm not all that interested in the resale aspect

Use 'chinese' ONLY if it Tempered or Laminated.
In 2013 a 6 ft piece of steel I-Beam fell off the back of a truck ahead of me on the highway and got stuck in the windshield exactly in front of my head
Hwy patrol it was my lucky day that it did not enter the vehicle (cause I wouldn't be writing this note), but it was not luck.
The laminate kept it from punching through the windshield.
This is how a laminated windshield breaks

Just saying!
