Default R-12

I took the test at epatest.com or org ? It is pretty straightforward, could not have done it in 15 minutes study. I recommend them. One of the things that stuck is that THERE IS NO DROP IN for r12. The reason I asked Thaddeus about his system was, the general consensus from others who know more than me is that that you will lose at least 8 if not 12% effectiveness going to 134a. So if your system is not leaking (our older hoses are designed to allow some molecules to pass, for the same reason, if you don't change the hoses, 134a will leak down over time, smaller molecule, ie, faster than r12, (so NO DROP IN) you might want to stay with the r12. If the sys is misbehaving, then it is a good time to convert b/c you are in all likelyhood going to be evacuating and replacing seals anyway, or you should be.

If you are bidding on ebay for r12, be advised it is avail for around $15-17. I saw two 14 oz cans go for over $90, yikes. Glad Dozeman had been emailing me here, thanks man.
