Default New "somewhat correct" first aid kits for older ROW 928's...

Just some quick info if anyone should be interested...;
I have searched a while for the original first aid kits to my German 1983 928s. As you know they just cost a fortune IF you ever find one. And of course, they're not really useable anymore. I also found out that they don't ship "medical supplies" if you use the global shipping program on ebay. So if you find an old kit like I recently did, make sure to look into the regulations, it was confiscated and not even returned to the seller..! But I have just found some new kits on ebay. From the right manufacturer "Hans Hepp", with the correct modern din-standard and the right size. IF you want a german kit that looks more original than the new Porsche-kits to your car...

I have ordered one yesterday so I will update this thread as soon as I get it...

I've always been curious to see how these were stored in the car. Does anyone have a photo?

On left hand drive cars from europe:
The box were stored behind a cover in the passenger footwell to the right. In the older cars the cover is stiched to the foot-carpet and closes via a button to the right. In the newer cars it is an external somewhat bigger cover..
This is the cover in my car:

And this is in a 1995 gts:

On the 1997 (S4) and later cars, there were electronics behind this cover.

If you look at these trim parts lists, you can clearly see that the first aid kit position is to the right from 1978 to 1986...;

The parts list below is from 1987 to 1991. The part "13" is a fastening clip for the electronics and/or first aid kit inside the bigger cover. The later cars doesn't seem to have this clip in the parts list but the cover is obviously there since the picture above is from a 1995 gts.

You could be right about the electronics. I have assumed that they made a bigger cover for the later ROW-models, to fit the first aid kits outside the inner space that electronic units now occupy. It exists some stories of straps under the shelf in the footwell but I cannot confirm this with any pictures. If anyone can show all of this with more precise info, it would be great information on the subject.
Here is a picture of the newer cover. It looks big. Can everybody that has original ROW cars upload pictures so that we can see the differences if there are any....

Here's a picture from the 1994 instruction manual. It seems that they suggest to keep the first aid kit in the spare tyre...

The first aid kit was into the box between the rear seats from 1987 to ?.

And I think that this is the emergency triangle that was into the spare tire.

Also, not all cars were delivered with a first aid kit. To my knowledge, French S4/GT/GTS weren't.

/ It might have been that one. When the external AC-unit in the back was installed, where was it kept then?

/ Ok, haven't got any info on this. I have an older sturdy one that fits perfectly on the inside behind the tool kit. I think it's the original one.

/ No of course, not all cars were delivered with the kit.

More info. Here are some pictures from the footwells of S4's and newer cars. As you can see there is no place to put any first aid kit behind the right cover, the computers take up all the space. Nicole was right besides the year "1997".. The first aid kit have the following measurements: 25,5 x 16 x 8 cm. That leaves me wondering where they have stowed this away in the newer cars. In some cars they were obviously in the compartment between the backseats, if there were no ac-unit in the way that is. But if so, maybe then they were all installed in the spare tyre well? Or maybe strapped under the passenger glovebox/shelf? Please post your pictures if you find any straps or other hidden spaces!

We have this original pair for $100. The triangle has some rust and the kit has one missing latch

Yep, that's exactly the same "warndreieck" as I have in my car. Wish I had asked here sooner about the first aid kit. A shame that it has a broken tab but I may have bought it anyway if I hadn't already bought the other one. Many thanks for this...hmm, I am tempted to buy it I must say...
