Default ISO: Front Burgundy Mats - Used

Looking for decent set of front carpet mats for one of my '87 while I decide what I'm going to do with the interior.

Mats, or actual carpets? I'm sitting in Anderson's attic right now. No mats, but plenty of carpets.

Kevin, Why don't you go over to your upholstry guy's place and have him cut you out a pair in a nice color and bind then for you?

Edit: Or better yet just get some carpet and bind them yourself. You do have sewing machine don't you?

Don't have an upholstery guy or heavy duty sewing machine.

Well, Kevin, I have both and the machine times three. I'll see if my guy has any Burgundy Carpet and maybe I'll make you a set. Two of my cars have burgundy interiors so I'll see if I can match it and figure out what kind of backing to use.

Kevin, I called Doug a little while ago and he said that he has some Burgundy or Dark Red carpet for one of his jobs and that there is some extra in it, or he might even have some other. He also has some burgundy vinyl to bind with; and when I asked him about some kind of backing he said that he has some kind of clear vinyl backing with little spikes on it for this purpose. He is going out to the shop later today and will give me a call when he double checks this stuff. I hope it works out for me to meet him there, but I have some family Xmas get-togethers going on. I'll let you know what I find or learn.

That is so generous of you and Doug - especially on Christmas Day.

Either color will do.

This certainly can wait - I don't want to put you and Doug out.

Doug called and he is out at the shop. He has all three items and some burgundy thread, so It looks like I will be able to get to it sometime this week. Today I stil have some family get-togethers to deal with. Tomorrow I'll try to find some of these in one of my cars to use as a pattern and/or I'll be doing some of my own design work on these. Merry Xmas.

I met Doug at his shop and he gave me the remanent of burgundy carpet to make these mats out of. I have them cut out and ready to put the peg backing on and then Bind them. I will probably do that tomorrow. I may need Doug's help with the binding. The carpet is pretty nice, but it is very light Doug says it is marine quality carpet. I think with the backing it will be just fine. Here are a couple of pictures of where I am with it.
