seat belt warning light / buzzer
Hi guys,
My '84 Euro S2 has a seat belt warning light which lights up when turning the key, and goes out shortly thereafter, regardless of whether I wear my seatbelt or not.
Also, no warning when unstrapping the seatbelt while driving.
I have never heard any buzzer either, leaving lights on or key in ignition while opening doors does not trigger anything.
My interior lights do come on when opening a door/the bootlid and go out when closing. The little red doorlights also work as they should, so my door switches work fine.
I've read about the relay/buzzer inside the center console, but I can't seem to find where this should go. (The threads on this topic don't have any pictures.)
Should my car be equipped with a buzzer or a chime? And where should this relay be found exactly?
Should my seatbelt warning light light up, regardless of this relay being present or not?
Thanks a lot!

Being a Euro, it possibly had a seat belt warning system added during its federalization. My 80 had a system put in to meet federal standards in the US for audible and visual seat belt warnings. My system operated irrespective of whether the belt was used.

Hmm, it was never in the US. It has lived its previous life in Andorra (from new, up until 2017).
So the Euro cars do not have a buzzer if you leave the lights on or the key in the ignition?
My original owner's manual does mention the seatbelt warning light, but is not specific on its function. It lights up together with all other dash lights before starting, but that's it.
So this is the intended behavior? I must admit I find this a bit strange, why would they bother to put in a light? (After all, they made several different dash panels with different lights/buttons...)

I would say working as it should. My 84 German spec Euro (in the US, but escaped feralization) has no buzzers or chimes whatsoever, but does have a seatbelt light that lights up at start-up.
