86.5 High Idle after Warm Up
My 86.5 has a high idle issue. The air pump has been disabled but the lines are still connected- the pulley literally sheared off so I just left it and replaced the belt. It idles around 700 rmp at cold start up- which is good-but once warmed up it jumps to 11-1200 rpm when in neutral. When in gear it drops to just below 1000. No difference when the ac is running. There has been an intermittent issue with the kickdown in the tranny as well- usually just after it is warmed up but it doesn't do it every time and only when warming up- not sure if that is part of the overall vacuum system on the car or would affect the idle. On the road it runs great and has good acceleration. I have noticed gas mileage isn't as good as before either. I checked for vacuum leaks with no luck. I haven't messed with the idle adjustment screw or the MAF. Just looking for some advice before starting on a part swap fest or running down rabbit holes.
Should I adjust the TPS? If so, is it a left or right (as facing the front) turn?
Is the MAF the likely culprit?
Any other suggestions welcome before I take it to the shop and bleed out another few hundred. Thanks
