1986.5 Porsche 928S Stolen in Irvine CA
 

Hey all, my 928S was stolen last night. It was parked on the street in Irvine CA. If anyone sees a black 928S tan interior in the area let me know.

Ugh, that sucks. Will keep an eye out- stock, or any visible mods?

That's terrible news.
....Not sure how someone steals a locked 928...certainly not the easiest target, in town.
And certainly not the most valuable one.
Any chance the police or some other party towed it away, for some reason?

Hey, definitely not towed by the police. I checked that. I called all local tow companies. Irvine is the "safest city in the US" but has a problem with car theft that is not reflected in the numbers.

Was the registration current?
One of the favorite things for the CHP to do (and LAPD) is to tow away cars with registration over a year old. The LAPD Airport Police has one guy, who only does this....dozens every week.

It was valid, it was my daily driver.

What is exact location where the car was parked are their any parking restrictions posted where the car was parked
Note see if anyone has a ring doorbell that might have seen the car escape or a store security camera that might have caught it

where the car was parked and what the owner was doing might have something to do with its removal
Was the car left locked did someone have access to the keys adding pictures of location could be an assistance

Damn, that's gut-wrenching as it looks like a super-nice example. In the event the unthinkable occurs, did you at least have it insured with Agreed Value coverage?

That sucks ...Big Time.. Happy that mine is a 5 speed. At least most (all?) of the millennium demographic is ruled out as potential suspect.(all but my 3 daughters.. Raised them well with how to use the 3rd pedal..)

i've always felt like a thief is taking a big chance if he steals mine....it might break down before he gets 100 yards down the road...lol!

While mine is a manual, which mentioned above many would be car thieves have not mastered. Just to be safe I put an Air Tag in all my cars to aid in retrieval if it ever comes to that. I hope you find your car unharmed.

i wouldn't be surprised if someone from rennlist sees the car at some point, unless it was stolen and taken immediately to strip down for parts

That begs the question...is the 928 market starving for parts???

A thief knows the value before he steals it..I feel safer in Mexico in my 928, than I would a Yukon for this reason.
