Short shifter opinions
Hola;
I just installed a 928SP short shifter on my 79, as part of a shifter cup bushing R&R, not sure if I like it or not.
I have one on my 89GT and I guess I've gotten used to that one. Course, that one didn't change the length much just the ratio.
I was able to do the shifter bushing in under 45 minutes, but it took me 3 hours of playing w/ the shifter to ascertain if I like it. I haven't road tested it yet (rear muffler fell off) on the 79 but it feels like it could pop out of gear easily and I can't get 5th gear to engage.
Any BTDT

The only short shifter that's worth doing is cutting down the shift lever. Especially on a 79', that shifter is like a foot long. As far as "shift feel", fresh bushings and a momo **** can go a long way.
