It took a couple of days of sleuthing on the internet tubes to find these. Searching and cross referencing the numbers back and forth. I was a little worried when the Mercedes unit showed up with the cap on it but a screwdriver and few minutes with a soldering gun provided me with a new old stock 928 motor!

928 right versus NOS Mercedes (left rear)
Wires are soldered onto regular 928 terminals and covered with a cap

Not that it helps much at present because they seem to be out of stock everywhere at first glance.

I was able to track down the Mercedes part numbers with some work though. EG. right motor on eBay for $199 Buy-It-Now, got it for $150 offer with $11 shipping.

The right motor on my '88 stripped its plastic transmission gear.

New motor makes a 'whirrr' noise versus 'grrrrr' off the old left motor.

I am waiting on a new left motor which is hopefully actually in stock.

At least they are rebuildable for the most part. I bought some brush assemblies off of ebay a while back when Merlin posted the ad for them.

Never know what will go NLA or go crazy in price next...
