Default Can someone tell me whats wrong with these hood hinges?

I got my car with the hood off, and what I tried to put the hood back for mock up I was puzzled with these hinges! .. they dont allow the hood to close all the way down! .. I can't see anything bent or brocken on the hinges, I'm really puzzled! .. can someone please check these pics and tell me what am I doing wrong here?

They are very smooth and doesn't bind anywhere, just the flat center piece is hitting where I circled it in red.

For what it's worth, here are a couple of shots of a pair of hinges for comparison. I confess I'm not sure I see why that lower bar is hanging up on the mounting bracket.

I cant thank you enough, Rob! .. That was EXACTLY what I was looking for, thanks a million mate. It turned out to be my hinges were distorted for just a few millimeters in the same spot for both (maybe the PO had the hood fitted uncorrectly or something), a bench vise and few hits with small hummer later and they fit perfectly now. Thanks again , Rob.

Aside from my wonderment about all of the corrosive crud on these hinges and all around them in them in the car, I really wonder just how you mounted these hinges in the vise and where you actually hammered on them to get the to "work."
