Car is GCC spec (American bumperettes on the back with the euro side markers… thought I am sure they also had front bumperettes too). It also seems to have the factory mobile phone preparation (see the plugged hole on the rear hatch). Interesting that someone plugged some front and rear parking sensors. The car cosmetically is in a super disaster shape… Parker in the sun for very very long.
Not sure if this was in Iraq at one point or another, but I believe Uday’s car was an S? And I recall seeing pictures of a silver GTS of cars recovered hidden after OIF’03… so not sure who owned this one.. pretty interesting find nonetheless.
After one full year of working on it, the 928 is finally running and driving, now it only needs fixing some small bits here and there and I can call that project done, as you can in the couple of pictures that I took today, I'm not gonna win any trophies with that car, its purely a very limited budget built and a drive-every-where type of car, the paint job has been done in a buddies paint shop for cheap (around $1500 total) and the interior also has been done in the same shop (about $1200 for redoing the whole interior) .. I took it for a drive yesterday night and it was driving beautifully, except that I discovered a leak in one of the brake reservoir seals with the MC, so I ordered a couple and will replace them right away. I will post some more pics after finishing up the engine bay and put on the hood again.
