better to exchange for a rebuild FD/WUR. I tried rebuilding the WUR several times but the cold pressures just wouldn't achieve good results.
time saved from repeated assemblies/disassemblies on the CIS system is worth the cost

Start here, the best $35 you will spend on this 928.

Amazon Amazon

Get comfortable and read the entire "continuous injection theory" chapter, then read the entire "continuous injection testing and service" sections. To solve the problem you have to understand the system (how it functions will surprise you) Typical for cars that have been sitting is contamination in the system...it must be surgically clean to work right and one good shot of aged watery ethanol goo that was once fuel pretty much screws the system.

Good news is most components be cleaned out, adjusted, resealed, and revived,...or replaced. It's all analog but you will need some tools, at a minimum the correct pressure gauge set:

If you choose a different gauge set make sure it is for K-Jet, these sets include a valve and the adapter fittings you need to hook them up.

Just wanted to update everyone on what’s been going on, just recently I decided to remove the injectors and clean them out again. I found a post on here describing how you can back-flush them and did that. I then connected all the injectors and jumped the fuel pump so I could see how all the injectors looked while pumping fuel, and to my surprise, or lack there of, only about 4 injectors actually had fuel going through them. Looks like that FD is getting rebuilt. I also found a troubleshooting guide for the ignition system and went through it and looks like I’m going to need a lot of new parts. Guess I should’ve expected this from the beginning, but this is getting expensive.

Before you tear into the FD take the injectors off the lines, jump the pump, and depress the air flow plate to see if fuel is coming out of all 8 of the lines. Clogged injectors is common, and just because you back flush them does not guarantee proper operation.

If you think this is getting expensive now you might want to reconsider this as a car project.

This is exactly what I did, results were not very impressive. Yes this is expensive but I was prepared for that and won’t let that stop me from restoring this car.
