I believe my control module relay is finished on my 1980 928.... reduced power (7V) to pressure switch on drier. compressor clutch does not engage but occasionally seems to try. I cannot find the radio shack 275 0218 relay anywhere Is there another relay that can be used or any other options. all the best. david

Here is a thing to try on the cheap.....get a normal relay from Autozone or something..run wire going into compressor to trigger terminal, power the relay from jump point. I have it set up this way to take the strain off the relay....its at least worth a try before you go into the dash and pull out the unit...you are getting enough of a signal to the compressor for it to try.and engage...so you're getting juice..all you have to lose is time and whatever a simple "ice cube" relay costs...

When having compressor clutch problems, one should check that the clutch current is less than 4 amps or the internal relay of the head unit can be damaged.

yes thats the problem I have determined and trying to find a substitute for the relay. david
