Default rack rebuild question...pinion/control valve orientation

i just finished my rack rebuild....centered the rack, didn't pay any mind to orientation of the control valve when i put it back in the housing. i saw a video in which the owner mentioned orientation of the pin to the arrow on the housing cover....i can't visualize why that matters...can someone explain?

I have wondered this my self. My theory at this point is the spool valve needs to be centered in such a way that the weight of the valve itself doesn't affect the torsion bar and thus create a divergence in on center feel from side to side.

I observed when I was rough building racks during trials on modifications I made to the spool valve that when I was careless about centering the spool valve just for testing purposes there would be a slight difference in on Center feel from side to side.
