Cargo Cover Socket Came Out

Cargo Cover Socket Came Out
One of my cargo cover sockets in the forward portion of the rear wheel well has popped out. As I understand it there is a clip that is accessed from behind. Before I remove the interior to access the clip has anyone had any luck with adhesive or a screw to reattach? Thanks, Tom

No - that won't work but I was able to make a tool out of plywood that I could snake up behind the panel and reattach the clip. Long thin handle - round top with a hole in the middle to take the socket's receptacle cup - small detent area around that for the clip to sit in then tape the clip on with masking tape at the edges and snake it up behind - worked better than I expected only took a few goes to get it on - whack (gently) with a mallet rather than press. The masking tape just pulls off the clip/tool (preferably the clip).

Its circular (look for it behind the panel - somewhere) it pushes onto the rear of the socket - like I said - best with a whack.
Conceptually like this: A new socket comes with one and may hold better than reusing an old one - depending on how the old socket was 'wrenched' out.
