Default How long can I run on 7 cylinders?

Many thanks to Paul D and VU for the help on the distributor mark. I had to wipe away a layer of grime to see it! With that fixed, the car starts right up.

Unfortunately, I broke a plug wire in the process (although the car seems to run better on 7 cylinders w/ no vacuum leak than it did on 8 with big vacuum leaks =). I'm not too upset because the wire set looks pretty ratty anyway.

The question - is it safe to drive a few miles on 7 cylinders while I wait for the spark plugs to come in? I realize it's not the best thing to do, but how much risk am I running? I have a company team dinner after work tomorrow that I'd rather not walk or bike to =)

p.s. I'm running cat-bypass as my low yearly mileage allows me to be emissions exempt.

After some advice from Jim from 928int'l, I soldered in a connector and managed to attach it to the distributor (my cap has 4mm threaded leads, so I just put two nuts on). I'm missing like crazy but it gave me the opportunity to set the idle, verify that the brakes are still getting vacuum, etc. Hopefully it's not a bad vacuum connection causing a lean misfire =) We'll see when the wires get here.
