Get a euro, they like to rev or better yet READ up on what Greg from down under has done/doing. He had doable changes that resulted in higher revving High horsepower re-engineered 928. As for sound my custom exhaust sounds incredible, big block sound in low rpms and screaming up high. Totally unique

I had a cross plane crank R1 for 8 years. The design was supposedly for better power out of corners, whatever. I will say it was the smoothest, VIBRATION-FREE bike there was. Talk about quality, 8 years and never a hiccup
