Question Oil Pressure Ignition Cut Out

Also, when purchasing the hose I was informed that all the oil can be pumped out of the block in about 10 seconds when wide open. Shutting down quickly is obviously imperative.
So why isn't there an ignition cut out when oil pressure is lost? Ignition cuts if you over rev, it cuts if you run out of fuel (or rather the engine stops). So why not protect the engine if you loose your oil?

Hummmm, interesting thought: Actually, zero pressure would be a more critical and immediate trigger than low level.
The 928 has a low pressure alarm and a low level alarm in addition to the pressure gauge - I don't know the trigger point for the low pressure, but it is 6 liters re. the level.
It could be done on the low pressure signal - at least to the extent of cutting rpm to extend the reaction time ( and the 'logic' would have to allow a start up delay, etc.) Like any safety/shut down interlock system, it vwould require more than the 1 min of thought given here - but worth thinking about.
