I'm having my dash pulled right now to repair the vinyl on a 1980. I've searched through the old threads but with retirements and company changes, who is the present go-to? I have a quote from Just-Dashes. I have the simple brown color that should be easy to match. I'm just wondering what other options are out there. The JD quote was not inexpensive. Has anyone shipped their dash to Car-bone in Poland? Thank you.
if you want to get the exact texture. You can source your own vinyl and have those vendors use that. I have found the materials offered by Global Upholstery to be a perfect match in color and texture for the 928's. http://globalupholstery.com/product/...n/porsche.html.
The vinyl usual ranges at $60-$70/yard. The dash needs one yard. But I recommend getting 2 yards for repairs in other areas.
If you are handy, you can have a cover made and apply it yourself. There are a few DYI threads out there. I have tried recovering 3 times. My recommendation is that you get a pre-sewn cover by one of the vendors out there.
