Default Removing headlight bar pins

Working on Orangie. The original headlight short bars were rusted beyond use. Since they were CAD plated in 78 I need to remove these short bars from the donor parts so they can be plated along with the middle bar.

Any tips on how to remove the two pins holding the headlight mounts to the short bar?

LOL I found my own answer, drift pin, and a 3lb sledge. Always search first I did not. Ha Ha

I used an Hex or Allen head machine screw that was slightly smaller diameter (M5 or M6) to press out the pin.

Use a bench vice or a C-Clamp to position the machine screw on one end of the pin. Use a socket or similar tube to receive the pin on the other side of the shaft sandwiched in the vice. Tighten the vise to drive the pin out.

I will try that tonight as I won't be able to hammer while the fam is asleep. Hoping to take a huge bin to my plater in the morning.

NOTE these pins are drilled in place,
meaning that only one side will fit to one side.
make sure to mark where the end goes and return it to its original position
