Default WTB- Cap for Vent Vane ?

Guys
My 79 is missing a small cap to hold the center vent panel .
Not sure how to describe the piece but looks like there would be female cap to fit over the small Male stud ?
Does someone have a resource for this ?
Thanks for assistance
frank

you will need a new vent Vane as the guide cap has broken off
The vanes can be removed and replaced by carefully prying the plates free of the pivot pins

Or you could attempt to fix it by heating up the metal of a thumb tack until it is red hot and carefully plunging it into the vane. I used this method to fix the top part of these vents with good success.

Just to be clear, I don't think Stan's suggestion was that you would have to replace the entire vent assembly, but rather just that one vane. My method would just save you from having to source a new unbroken vane and possibly any disassembly, though doing the thumbtack method would be easier if you removed that vane first.

And 928 has a 2-foot box of center console, armrest, and rear console vents with plenty of loose vanes from each, they can easily stick one in an envelope.

Default Center vent fixed

928 fixed me up with 2 very nice vanes …..received a couple days ago .
Got an extra one in case I broke one …..so I now have an extra for future use .
The PO had tried to glue the original vane, which did not work.
Although several other vanes were dislodged during install finally got all aligned and on their pivots .
Yeah ..linstalled and all working properly

Looks good Frank! And I also always like using new or used OEM part when available. Glad it worked out.
