Guys
Starting to address some of the issues on my newly acquired 79
Radio does not power up (no light or function) Antenna down and doesn’t extend
Car Really has been well kept overall and very original .
From review of the factory electrical info seems very much like my 82 911
Need to locate the inline fuse to radio ?
Also believe the antenna only extends when radio powers up sending signal/power to antenna ?
Thanks for assistance

Yeah, the antenna only works if the radio turns on.
Considering how old the radio is it might be a good idea to take it out and have it rebuilt.
That way you know everything about the radio is working perfectly and you can troubleshoot anything else that pops up.
Otherwise the inline fuse is located somewhere behind the center console pretty close to the back of the radio.

Radio removed and found the 2.5A fuse was blown …..but do have power to the fuse .
So what blew the fuse ? will send radio for thorough check out, but thought about the possibility of the antenna
playing a role ?? Not sure but thought there was also a fuse in the line back to the antenna ?
Thanks
