Of course you can go for that anodized "look" with that new Duplicolor Metalcast paint. I have done my rotor hats so far, looks great. Gonna do my calipers next...

Duplicolor makes a high temp caliper paint kit in various colors. Bought mine at Advanced Auto $15. Also comes with the degreaser. Bought red for the calipers and will get black for the rotors. You brush it on so overspray is not a problem.

I did this job on my Audi A4 last summer...used Duplicolor Hi-temp ceramic paint, along with good prep of wire brush and carb-cleaner. The results were very good and a year later the finish looks just fine. Needs a good cleaning, though after a winter of neglect.

I followed a tech write-up from AudiWorld as a guide, but substitured the Duplicolor paint for the hi-tech caliper stuff, after reading the experience of others on that board. Take a look for yourself at:

http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext48.shtml

I did not spray the paint on the calipers. I sprayed small quantities into a plastic cup and used small disposable brushes to apply it. As others have indicated, the paint is very thin and it takes at least 3 coats to get a good solid color (red in my case). I ended up doing 5 coats to get the desired look. I did not dissassemble the calipers to paint then...the job ias fine, but would have been better if the calipers were removed from the mounting bracket.
