You should do one of those black and white camouflage wraps that the OEMs use on their development mules, and see how many spy photographers start following you around so they can sell their pics to all those car vaporware sites. "Is THIS the next 928?".

Was hesitant to reply initially since this is a very hard question to answer since tastes between individuals will always be different.
I would look at the different colors that were available through the 928 years and pick a few that you really like. The black interior is an easy mix with just about every exterior color so that would make the process easier.
Then I would go to a reputable and high end wrap installer and discuss the different colors you think you would like and ask them their opinion if these colors could be replicated or maybe other wraps that would suit the 928 in their view. If the shop does a lot of high end cars, they have probably used some really nice wrap materials and could guide you on what's available and what you wouldn't have thought to do on your own. You might be surprised on whats available.
Good luck with the search and please let us know what you settled on. I always thought this would be a great option since it gives you a new looking ride as well as protecting the original paint.

I'm a huge fan of Rainforest and Amazon Green lately. Audi's Sonoma Green is also great.
Continental Orange, mentioned above, is great, but I think that my favorite 928 color is probably Iris Blue.
There are some pretty nice metallic oranges out in the world; I see them mostly on Dodge, Chevy, and Hyundai (maybe Kia, same diff) cars.
I was looking at pictures the other day of a 968 in Wimbledon Green that was pretty great looking.
Mopar purples are great, too.
The world is your oyster; have you taken a look at Rennbow?

For a 1990 928 GT, I would chose Maritime blue, code 38B, or Speed yellow, code 12H.
And I feel your pain, but I've decided to restore my 1988 CS in its original black, anyhow. I would have loved a Forrest green 1988 CS.

I had a guy actually suggest this as a wrap on a nice car... Thankfully, I was sitting in a low chair and when I fell out, I did not hurt anything...
Hope you find something you like!
