Default Changing all Rubber and shocks in my 84 S2

After the strange behaviour at Autobahn braking of my 84 S2 5 speed I change all Rubber parts , the shocks and the wheel bearings.
I can't isolate the error to an specific part.

I also change all bushings from the rear axle

Old Konis, 12 years old and 40.000 miles

Old versus new

Old rubber versus new, rubber looks not so bad

New Bilstein B6, one Koni needs 30 seconds to travel from compressed to evaluated, the other not so long.

Not so bad work, Allen key is better than the Bilstein solution.

The car has 200.000 km on the odometer. 125.000 miles. The Springs have 3 Blue Marks.

Ya..the old rubber may not look so bad, but put a durometer on it..

You're going to _love_ the result.

@ Speedtoys
the result is fantastic! After aligment i drove on Autobahn and pull her to 245 kmh . A few hard braking and my conclusion is the back of the car is now rock solid. Drives like on the railroad.

I have no clue what was wrong but I'm very pleased.
The Michelin PS 4 are very good at 2,1 bar.

Next project is the cleaning of the injectors.

I would suggest you raise the front back to stock ride height to take advantage of that new suspension

Thx Stan,
that‘s the next project If I change all rubber and the shocks in the front.
The good weather is almost over and I want to drive the car the last few weeks before Winter.
The S8 has clogged water drains under the hvac Modul, something I should Fix First.
