Thanks guys.
The reason I'm asking is because I just acquired an '87 automatic which is bone stock.
I will be sure then to make the checks as suggested above, but right now I'm in the middle of a timing belt change.

In addition to the two excellent answers above, I will add that at this point, all 928s are suspect to their originality since many have passed through multiple owners with many not knowing about prior maintenance items done of their 928s.
I have run across more than a few instances when the owners truly believed their 928 TT had not been replaced and was original, only to find that it had been, along with the transmission and other bits.
So at this point in time all bets are off and anyone buying a 928 automatic should conduct TBF engine health checks before they purchase it.
And I might add an aftermarket clamp being present at the front flex plate does not guarantee their is no TBF engine damage.
Edit: Above posted before seeing Sway Bars last post which came in while I was typing this response. Good luck with the timing belt, looks like a beautiful 928 and hoping the engine check comes out well.
